Tomorrow's the day! Hood to Coast and Portland to Coast relays begin and we're extra excited this year as a sponsor of this epic event. This is THE most popular and largest running and walking relay race in the world, spanning 199 miles from summit to sea. Our Butcher Shop is located conveniently between the two, so we're pleased to welcome participants and fans in on their way home from the finish line after the race completes. We'd want a nice steak or pork chop for dinner after that kind of effort too!

Available exclusively in the Butcher Shop, this is beef raised by us, slaughtered by us and packaged by us, which drastically reduces the footprint and materials waste that most larger-scale beef operations require. This meat is raised and processed with care, because as we like to say, anything worth doing is worth doing right!

We can't believe it's already been 15 years!

While the original Meating Place has roots back to 1974 with owner Steve Crossley, current owners Casey and Annie Miller took up the helm of the shop in 2011 as a small custom shop processing wild game for local hunters. In 2013, our full-service butcher shop was launched and quickly followed by our café. A little (okay, a lot) of expansion and growth later and we're proud to have more than 60 employees, many of whom have been with us for the better part of the past 15 years.

We're happy to continue serving the NW and partnering with local farmers to get the best, high-quality meats in our shop and café for you to enjoy. If you're a regular or a new customer, stop by this week and say hi — we love hearing from you.
