The White Clover Farm animals thrive on 100% grass, without grain. White Clover Farm is family owned and locally operated in Hillsboro, Ohio.

We practice a holistic sustainable approach to farm management which insures sustainability and continuous improvement to the soils. Cattle are rotated every few days to fresh pastures, which provide the highest quality forage possible while recycling nutrients and improving the soils.

This book is a must read if you are interested in the health of planet Earth. It explains how regenerative agriculture can fix our broken hydrologic cycle and subsequently cool the Earth. They used photos from White Clover Farm for the front and back cover.

The cows and calves are enjoying a wonderful January day at the farm. Moderate temperatures, green grass, and sparkling clear spring water.

The cows really enjoyed the sunshine yesterday. You can see their reflections on the frozen pond. A large flock of Cedar Waxwings descended on the Eastern Red Cedars. Juniper berries are are a favorite of the Cedar Waxwing.

We received almost 8 inches of snow at the farm. The cows are able to graze through it easily. I rolled out a bale of hay just because I wanted to use my new bale unroller.

I'm ready for the big snow event today. I bought a bale unroller so that I can unroll a bale of hay when the snow gets too deep to graze through.

We received 8 inches of rain in the month of June and the pastures have exploded in luxurious growth. The cows are very appreciative of this all you can eat salad bar.

I took this video of the cows yesterday. Notice all of the birds darting in and out of the screen. These are tree swallows and barn swallows. They are my natural fly control.

Shade is very important on these hot days. On a 90 degree day in direct sunlight, a cows black hide can get up to 140 degrees. A red hide reflects more light and only gets up to 118 degrees.

We never use herbicides at White Clover Farm. We don't have weeds, only nutritious food for the cows. These two cows are devouring the Canadian thistle.

The cows are really enjoying this Hop clover. It is usually low growing, but this was 14 inches tall. I'm not sure why, but they seem to like throwing it onto their backs.

What a difference the weather makes. Last summer we struggled with a D4 drought. This spring we have had 7.8 inches of rain in the last 45 days. The natural springs are running full tilt and the grass is growing faster then the cows can eat it.

The cows are enjoying the lush green spring pastures. They love dandelions and will eat everyone of them, even after they have gone to seed. Has anyone eaten dandelion greens?
