Brown Farms

Brown Farms We are a first generation farming operation that got its start with the help of the community. Looking for like minded partners to grow our farm.

Specializing in promoting healthy soils and minimize soil erosion while being a profitable farming operation. We currently farm 1200 acres of corn, soybeans, and wheat. We produce hay and have a small cattle herd as well as a flock of hair sheep and cross bred club lamb ewes. Custom farming is a large part of what and how we started with an additional 400 acres of custom work completed each year.

We are always looking to expand our operation with additional acres. We strive to treat every acre as if it was owned by us stiving to achieve the highes yeilds while building the soil>

This example isn’t from Ohio but has some great ideas on how to transition in and out of farming. The number one thing I hear a lot of time is I can afford to retire because of the tax penalty they face. Tools like mentioned here could help transition to another generation and help with the tax problems. We aren’t tax professionals but if you’re interested in exploring alternative ways to transition from farming, we would love to have conversations with you!
