🌽 Sweet Corn Season is Almost Here! 🌽

We’re getting ready to kick off opening day for sweet corn on FRIDAY, JUNE 26th!

This year has taken extra effort behind the scenes to get us here a lot earlier and improve quality. One of the biggest projects was greenhouse-growing our corn, which meant a LOT more labor and inputs.

To start the season, sweet corn will be 3 for $2

As we move deeper into harvest and supply becomes more abundant, pricing will adjust and we'll keep you all updated!

Thanks for supporting our farm and being part of another season of growing good food for our community. We can’t wait to share it with you.

Also! Mary Ellen you had the closest guess to the first day of sweet corn harvest, so once we officially begin we will connect with you to get you some corn 🧡🌽

We officially called it quits on strawberry season today! 🍓

The heat put a sudden end to this year's harvest, but what a great season it was. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the stand and supported our family farm.

You may have noticed the "Closed to Ripen" sign is back up. This time it's not for strawberries... 🌽
Sweet corn harvest is getting SO close! The corn is looking great and just needs a little more time.
We'll announce our opening date as soon as we know it. See you soon!

Probably one of the last few 4:30 wake ups for strawberries. Enjoying those dawn walks past the garden to the strawberry field with a STRONG cup of coffee in hand 😂 We are open today with more Hoods at the farmstand. Hope you all stay cool this weekend. Thanks for supporting our family farm 🍓

One of the questions we get every year is, "How do I know it's really a Hood?"

While there isn't one single trait that identifies a Hood strawberry, there are a few clues. One of my favorites is the leafy cap on top. Many Hood strawberries wear their cap like a little crown 👑, standing up instead of laying flat against the berry.

You'll also notice that Hoods are often bright red all the way through, incredibly fragrant, and softer than grocery store berries. That's because they were bred for flavor, not for shipping!

And if you want some of these little nuggets of deliciousness, we're at the stand today starting at 9:00 a.m. 🍓

Anyone else see the forecast for the end of the week?! 🥵 That means we are in the final few days of strawberry harvest. Those 100° temps will certainly melt what we have left in the field. If you've been meaning to stop by the stand, now Is your chance. We are open now with flats of our no-spray Hoods, JAM FLATS, Hood jam, and tallow products. $10 per quart (2 pints!) or $60/flat. Cash, check or venmo.

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by or supported our stand this strawberry season! It has been a beautiful berry season 🍓

We couldn't help but snap a picture of this ear today.
It's still a few weeks away from the stand, but seeing sweet corn this far along this early has us pretty excited. We've spent the last few years learning, experimenting, and trying a few new things in the field, and it's fun to see some of that hard work paying off.

Meanwhile, we're still harvesting Hood strawberries! But with a hot stretch of weather in the forecast, we're likely down to our final few days. If you've been meaning to stock up on Hoods, don't wait too long.
We're not quite ready for sweet corn season yet, but it's finally starting to feel close. 🌽☀️🍓

We always say sweet corn is a marathon, but strawberries are a sprint.

We've reached week three of daily strawberry harvests, and while we can finally see the finish line in sight, Mother Nature still gets the final say. 🍓

We're back at the stand today with more of our no-spray Hood strawberries. If you've been meaning to stock up, make jam, or enjoy a bowl of Oregon's favorite berry, now's the time! These won't be around much longer!

See you at the stand!

We’ve had some irrigation issues the last couple days, which meant a few extra trips down to St. Paul for replacement parts. Not exactly what we planned, but we’re making it work.

Silver lining: my best friend works there, so I got a rare 5-minute parking lot coffee date squeezed in between fixes. Best morale boost of the week!

We’re still picking away and we’re getting close to the end of Hoods. They never last long enough!
We ARE open today with more berries ready for you. Come see us 💛

TASSELS?! Already?! 🌽

We usually say “tassels to the sky by the 4th of July” around here… but apparently the corn had other plans this year. 😅

So now we need your guesses:
WHEN do you think our first sweet corn harvest will be this season?

Closest guess wins bragging rights (and maybe we’ll have to come up with a little prize 👀🌽).

And while the corn is showing off early… Hood strawberries are available at the stand today too 🍓
