I’m sharing this with permission and with a heavy heart. A local, vulnerable family is facing being locked out of their apartment Monday morning due to an inability to pay rent.
This family includes a mom and her minor daughter, along with two young adult sons. One son is autistic and the other has physical limitations from a car accident. Because of the boys’ ages and needs, they cannot enter a shelter together as a family, which makes an already terrifying situation even harder.
Mom has done everything she can. She has called countless resources, agencies, and programs. Right now, the soonest help available puts them on a 2 to 3 month waitlist. That doesn’t help them on Monday.
👉 Our immediate goal is to raise $1,800 by Monday to secure temporary housing, so this family has a safe place to stay while longer term solutions are worked out. This will also keep the family together! 👈
