We’re out picking peonies every night this time of year, and this was a nice one ✨ The yellow Bartzella peonies have always bloomed for St. Clair’s birthday but this year they are 5 days late! We were very happy to see the first ones tonight!!

The ranunculus just started coming in…it will be a very short season, but we’re delighted to see them, especially this late. Usually, they are totally finished flowering by now but we planted them SO late because the greenhouses were pure ice when it was our normal planting time. Putting them in late felt like a gamble - ranunculus hate heat and shut down flowering in hot weather - but here they are! 🤷‍♀️💕

Yesterday was my birthday ✨ Aside from watering and picking and watering again (95 degrees!), Luke and I mostly played hooky…only to come back to a totally different farm. Literally overnight, peonies, delphinium, and anemone are added to the roster!

It IS going to warm up and it IS time to plant, even though it sure hasn’t felt like it this week. Person after person have come into telling me they haven’t put a thing in the ground yet, so if you feel behind in the garden you’re not alone! We’re a little late on the farm this year, too. But this weekend looks to be beautiful and we have so many great garden plants at the shop that are ready to be planted out and are close to bloom! Poppies, peonies, foxgloves, baptisia, columbines, and more are all ready to put on a show. Lots of shade plants too. We’re open Friday and Saturday from 10 - 4, and I’ll be here and ready to talk your ear off about cutting garden plants and whatnot 😎

Checking in on the peonies this lovely evening…they’re looking good and all budded up 😍 We’re doing a peony arranging class as part of the on May 30th (there are still some seats open!) and I’m so relieved that they look like they’ll bloom on time! A few weeks ago the weather was so weird I was getting nervous!

Shop dreams coming true 🌈🌈🌈 just in time for Mother’s Day. Flowers came in on the farm for big mixed bouquets, tulips are still peaking with 20-some varieties, we just got in a bunch of weird indoor plants, and our outdoor fantasy nursery is actually reality. Hope we’ll see you! Nevermind that road closure on 23! Open Friday and Saturday, 10 - 4.
