Why to drink VINTAGE Champagne or other countries bubbles?
Bagrationi 1882 2007 Vintage Royal Cuvée Brut from Country of Georgia! Now available in New York and New Jersey. SRV $35 per bottle. "Produced solely from the Chinuri grape. Visually, the pinpoint silvery bubbles in brilliant light gold are very appealing. Mild toasted bread, citrus and floral aromatics lead to dry, fruity flavors with light ye**ty notes. The finish is dry and long. It is a distinctly styled sparkling wine priced to compete with non-vintage Champagne and top-end California sparkling wine.
Today’s wine consumer is often criticized for having a short attention span. The claim is that wine drinkers are no sooner onto something new then they are thirsting for the next wine adventure. The name Bagrationi 1882 bears the name of Royal Prince Ivane Bagrationi-Mukhraneli who first started producing sparkling wines in Georgia. For over 125 years Bagrationi 1882 has been the leading sparkling wine house in Georgia with over 75% of the domestic market.
The Kartli region, where Tbilisi the capital of Georgia is located, is situated on the river Mtkvari and includes the Gori and Mukhrani plains. Hot, dry summers ripen the vines to perfection, enabling many European style wines to be produced. The Bagrationi 1882 winery has 400 acres in the Kartli region which grow and cultivate Chinuri and Mtsvane grapes.
Grape Variety: Grown in eastern Georgia, the Chinebuli grape clusters are big, cylindrical, thin-skinned berries with a fleshy and juicy pulp. Chinebuli grapes are typically used to produce “Chinuri” type premium wines, and are very often blended for the making of premium white sparkling wines such as the Bagrationi 1882 Royal Cuvée. The Chinebuli grape is unique to the country of Georgia.
