HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

Father’s day was always one of our favorite and busiest days at the restaurant. What dad didn’t want to celebrate with a plate full of burnt ends, ribs, and The Sauce?

Pictured here is Greg Beverlin with his two kids, Kristina and Gregory. Greg has always been an incredible father teaching his kids the value of hard work, integrity, and a very dry sense of humor. Couldn’t ask for a better dad❤️

Who remembers Donna’s garden behind Hillsdale Bank Bar BQ?

Co-founder, Donna Beverlin, had quite the green thumb. She was a life-long gardener and a member of the Kansas State University Master Gardener Program. For Donna, gardening and growing her own food was one of her greatest passions. She would spend countless hours all spring, summer, and fall working tirelessly in the garden.

In the early 2000s, Donna created Heart of the Garden behind the bank building where she would sell plants, statuary, and custom designed sand stones. The garden was also a popular seating area for BBQ customers who wanted a more relaxed ambiance.

Here’s a photo of Donna Beverlin at the restaurant in the early 90s. Donna was such an incredible mama. And as her 2 kids got older, they worked right along aside her at the restaurant on Mother’s Day weekend. Make sure to show appreciation for all the motherly figures in your life today🙌

The Bank before the restaurant.

Here are a few photos only a couple people have ever seen of Hillsdale Bank Bar BQ BEFORE it was a restaurant🙌 Back in 1989, there was only the Bank building. No kitchen. No lobby. And no caboose. Just 16 inch brick walls and a beautiful tin ceiling. While keeping most of its original character and charm, Greg and Donna Beverlin transformed the building into the restaurant we all loved that lasted for 26 years❤️ The Bank building is now 120 years old.
