the eye soar side of our home that I never thought i’d actually display for viewing. but it belongs here because it marks a big milestone for us. if there’s one thing this quarantine has taught us, it’s that home is where the heart is. after a year of planning and waiting for permits, we’re finally breaking ground and putting on our addition! this hideous area is where i’ll eventually be cooking my family meals, cleaning dishes watching my family play in the pool, making morning coffee and rushing the kids out the door to school. the dogs will enter through an actual mudroom as opposed to trashing my entire house with muddy paws. the kids will have their own cubbys for all their school packs and outdoor gear, and mom and dad will finally have a master suite and a bathroom as opposed to our current loft bedroom. there will be doors, yes DOORS, closets for storage, a bedroom for each kid, and most important to me, a kitchen island where my kids can do their homework while I prepare snacks, drink wine at the end of the day with my husband while listening to music and not worrying about waking up the kids. a place to gather, host, welcome others, celebrate, spend holidays, and make memories of a lifetime. best part about this, the original 1740 heart of the home that you see in many posts, will not be touched, the only thing we are gutting is my closet size colonial kitchen to create a foyer for a better flow. this is our home, the bones are good, and this is where we belong. let’s do this and !
