If you’ve visited H.J. Gelzer & Sons over the years, you know that family has always been at the heart of what we do.

Right now, the youngest member of one of our families — Emily — has made it all the way to the Group Finals of the 2026 Baby of the Year competition, and she is currently in 2nd place. She now needs to finish 1st in her group to advance directly to the national Quarterfinals, so we thought we’d ask our friends and customers throughout Hillsdale County to help give her a little boost.

And today is an especially good day to help: Every vote counts 2X today.
Everyone can cast a free vote, and today that free vote counts twice. The competition also offers additional votes through donations connected with its charitable fundraising for Baby2Baby, which helps provide diapers, clothing, and other necessities to children in need.
Whether you cast a free vote, share her page with a friend, or simply send a little encouragement her way, we appreciate it.

We’ve watched generations of Hillsdale families furnish homes, raise children, welcome grandchildren, and make memories together. It would mean a great deal to us to see our community help one little Hillsdale girl take the next step in this competition.
Vote for Emily here:

Thank you for cheering her on!

One baby will appear in a national ad campaign with The Honest Company, win $25,000, and be celebrated in Variety Magazine.

As the days get shorter and Michigan starts reminding us what’s coming, we’re all about to spend a whole lot more time indoors. So if we’re going to be inside anyway… we might as well be comfortable.

A better sofa. A recliner that actually fits you. A chair you can disappear into with a book. Warm lighting, cozy accents, and furniture that makes home feel like the place you actually want to be.

At H.J. Gelzer & Son’s, we have furniture for real homes, real families, and real Michigan winters — with plenty of styles, fabrics, finishes, and comfort levels to choose from.
Come in, sit down, and get comfortable.

A lot of people have asked how our H.J. Gelzer & Sons Club works, so here’s the plain-English version:

You join a Club card for $1, then pay $2 per week for 39 weeks. Every week, one name is drawn.

If your name is drawn, you receive $79 in merchandise credit at H.J. Gelzer & Sons — and once your card wins, you’re done paying on that card. If your card never gets drawn, you still end up with the full $79 in savings to use in our store.

It’s a painless way to set money aside for the things you already know are coming:

Christmas gifts.
Birthdays.
Special occasions.
Furniture purchases.
Housewares.
Decor.

Or just keeping a little store credit ready for when you find something you love.

You can have more than one card for more chances to win, and you can join more than one Club if you want to build your savings faster. It is simple, affordable, and honestly a pretty fun old-school way to save.

Stop in and ask our Furniture Store staff about joining the next Club!
