MY JOURNEY ISN’T OVER… I’M STILL CLIMBING. 🙏🏽💪🏽❤️‍🩹

On June 10th, I underwent major back surgery that left me with 37 staples in my back. What I thought would simply be surgery and recovery turned into one of the hardest battles of my life.

From June 10th until July 18th, I spent nearly seven weeks in the hospital.

There was a point when I couldn’t walk at all. I had to be moved with a lift. After surgery, I couldn’t even feed myself. Things I had done independently my entire life suddenly became things I needed help to do.

Then came the fight to get myself back. 🙏🏽

I had to learn how to walk again, even using the help of a robot during rehabilitation. Step by step. Day by day. Some days harder than others.

But I kept going.

I’m still recovering. I’m still rebuilding my strength. I’m still learning what my new normal looks like. But one thing about me… I AM NOT GIVING UP. 💯

This journey has tested me physically, mentally, and emotionally in ways I could never fully explain. But when I look back at the woman who once had to be lifted because she couldn’t walk, and I look at where I am today, I realize just how far I’ve come.

I may not be where I want to be yet, but thank God I’m not where I started. 🙌🏽

Every step means something now.
Every bit of progress means something.
Every day I get back up is another victory.

So when you see me moving, smiling, working, living and pushing forward, understand there is a whole story behind that smile.

37 staples. Nearly 7 weeks in the hospital. Couldn’t walk. Couldn’t feed myself. Had to learn to walk all over again.

And yet…

I’M STILL HERE.
I’M STILL FIGHTING.
I’M STILL GOING.
I’M STILL CLIMBING. 🏔️💪🏽

My story is still being written.
