Silver Maples Farm We are an Organic Farm, CSA & Farm stand. We grow a variety of organic produce, including gourmet quality vegetables, berries, herbs and cutting flowers.

We are a small organic farm, located in Hillsville, VA. We offer a seasonal 20 week CSA, from mid-May until mid-October. Our new home based retail farm stand is open from early May until the end of October, on Saturdays only, from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM. We are not organically certified, but practice organic methods. We utilize natural fertilizers, as well as only organic certified products for insect and disease control. We use only pure spring water, for irrigation purposes. We sell both organic home grown produce, as well as commercially grown fruits and vegetables grown by surrounding farms. We issue credit, to our CSA customers for weeks not used, and also offer a CSA "flex share" which can be purchased as desired, with no up-front payment required. Sampler shares are also available on Saturdays at our farm stand. Please give us a call for more information on our various CSA share types. Other products of our farm are homemade organic seedless jams, relishes, and other pickled products. Our herb and garlic beds are of gourmet quality. Our cutting flowers are "cut your own". We utilize only organic methods for w**d control. Please stop by some Saturday, during the growing season, and enjoy a relaxing walking tour through our various growing areas. Our 2024 Prepaid Farm Share program will begin on Friday, May 24. Quarter shares are 8 pounds max, half shares are 16 pounds max and full shares are 26 pounds max. You choose the entire contents of your chosen share from our extensive farm stand display. Prepaid cost for 4 week periods, are Quarter Shares $50,
Half Shares $100 and Full Shares $140. We should have a nice selection of our own home grown organic crops, in addition to those grown be other area farms. No up funds are required. All our Apple Butters, Pickled Products & Seedless Jams will be available starting on Black Friday and every weekend after until Christmas. We now have an additional apple butter, Honey Apple Butter, in addition to all our other Apple Butters, to include Unsweetened Apple Butter. Directions to our farm as follows:
Go east on the Rt. 58 bypass around Hillsville, and at the very end of the 4 lane section, turn left onto 820, Freemont Rd. We are 1/2 mile up on the right. Bear right at our farm sign.

Our first batches of unsweetened apple butter are now available. We have Unsweetened Apple Butter with and without spices, also a Unsweetened Gingered Apple Butter, with fresh minced ginger, and a Cranberry Apple Butter, lightly sweetened with fructose sweetened whole berry cranberries. All are in pint jars, except the plain Unsweetened Apple Butter which is priced at $12 per 24 oz. jar. All apple butters in pint jars are priced at $10. All our farm share customers receive a $1 per jar discount. Our special display of all our jarred products will remain set up until the end of October, and set up again for Black Friday weekend. Phone orders can be placed by calling us at 276-728-7854. Tasting samples of all our jarred products will be available Friday & Saturday through the end of October. Limited amounts are available. First come, first served. All our seedless jams, pickled products and apple butters make great Christmas gifts. Case & half case discounts available, mix or match.

Starting tomorrow, Oct. 14, we will offer tasting samples of all our pickled and seedless jam products. All will be displayed under a canopy as part of a special seasonal display. Our farm stand will be open only on Friday & Saturday, from 10 AM until 5 PM, rain or shine, concluding on October 22. But our special display of our pickled & seedless jam products will run until the end of October.
During the month of November, up until Christmas, our pickled & seedless jam products can be ordered via phone, 276-728-7854. All orders must be picked up here at our farm, no mail orders. We will not be at Reed Isaland Christmas Tree Farm this year, as they will be closed, but feel free to come here to our farm to place and pick up your holiday orders for our pickled products & seedless jams. First come, first served. All seedless jams are $7 per half pint jar, or $70 for a full case of 12 jars, mix or match, or $40 for a half case of 6 jars, mix or match. All our pickled products are $10 per pint, or $100 for a full case of 12 jars, mix or match or $55 for a half case of 6 jars, mix or match. All our jarred products make great holiday gifts. We have made over 40 cases of various pickled products and seedless jams. Currently we have Bread & Butter Pickles & Asian Chow-Chow in pint jars. We also have lot's of seedless fruit jams, including Seedless Strawberry-Rhubarb, Peachberry, Strawberry and Jalapeno-Peach Jams, all in half pint jars. Soon we will be making our Unsweetened Apple Butter, which will be in pint jars. All our pickled & seedless jams make great holiday gifts. We will not be at Reed Island Christmas Tree Farm this year, as they will be closed.

We are in the process of making our seedless fruit jams. We now have available our Seedless Strawberry-Rhubarb Jam and our Seedless Strawberry Jam, all in half pint jars. Cost is $7 per jar,
( $6 to all our farm share customers ) or $70 per case of 12 jars, mix or match. We will also have Unsweeted Apple Butter available in about 2 weeks. We will not be at Reed Island Christmas Tree Farm this year, as they will be closed. Most all of our jarred products will only be available here at our home based farm stand. It's apple season, big time. We have at least a dozen different varieties of awesome local grown apples, to include Honeycrisp, Cortland and Jonagold apples, all excellent fresh eating apples. We also have Jonathon apples, the very best for applesauce. Now is the time to begin stockpiling your various winter squash, most of which will keep for several months. We have Delicata, Honeynut, Acorn, Spaghetti & Butternut squash. This week we will also have local grown sweet Red Bell Peppers and Kennebec Potatoes. Lot's of very high quality local produce still available, to include our stringless Jade Green Beans and our sweet Carmen Italian Peppers.

It's apple season in our Blue Ridge Mountains. As we transition from summer crops to fall crops, we now have a large variety of fresh picked local grown apples available. We have Gala, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, McIntosh, Staymen, Rome, Cortland and Magnum-Bonum apples, with additional varieties each week. We also have the most flavorful & sweetest organic winter squash, our Delicata & Honeynut varieties. And still available are our Carmen sweet frying peppers as well as our stringless Jade green beans.
Local grown sweet corn and peaches are still available. Our farm stand is open only on Friday & Saturday, from 10 AM until 5 PM, rain or shine. I have 4 boxes of fresh picked organic plum tomatoes available for $20 per 25 pound box. Two are ripe and two are turning, partially ripe. First come, first served. Starting tomorrow, we will have our awesome gourmet organic Honeynut & Delicata winter squash available. Both have excellent flavor and sweetness. Also available will be several varieties of local grown apples. Our farmstand is open every Friday & Saturday, from 10 AM until 5 PM, rain or shine.
