Lambing begins for us at the end of February, possibly as early as the 22nd! The heat lamps are installed in the new barn, the office is stocked, and we are in final preparations for our new arrivals!

All of our 2017 lambs have arrived! Now, we just focus on keeping them well-fed and happy as they grow, grow, grow!

We posted our Winter Shearing ewe fleeces to our notification list on Thursday! Forty-nine fleeces posted and forty-three sold! There are still six beautiful fleeces remaining for sale - you can contact me for more info and photos (and yes, the attached pics are from three of those six still for sale)!

Our first lambs arrived today! Three-year-old Romeldale ewe Nypsi delivered twins Quade (ram, 10.8 lbs) and Qorianka (ewe, 9.0 lbs) this afternoon! Our busy season has officially begun! This year's lambs will all have names beginning with the letter Q - a bit of a challenge compared to last year's P names!

As of today (about sixteen days into our breeding season), the Romeldales are nearly all marked by the rams' crayons and the Romneys - the more seasonal breeders - have only just begun. Every marking hopefully translates to another set of new lambs next spring, making this a very exciting time of year at Peeper Hollow Farm!

Nels and the rest of the adult rams are eager for Breeding Season 2016 to begin - less than a week to go, since they will go into breeding groups on Sunday, Sept. 18th!

We've been busy delivering sheep to their new homes over the past week or two. It is always fun to see shepherds greet their new flocks (as in the attached photo)! We do still have a number of really nice lambs left for breeding...

We will be taking a few of our sheep and setting up a display in front of the Amana Woolen Mill in Amana, IA, on Saturday and Sunday, April 30-May 1, for their Maifest Celebration! Come and join us if you can! (The attached photos are of last year's visitors.)

Happy Easter! We finished lambing last night just before midnight, which means we will now get to catch up on our sleep and all of the other things we've put off for seven weeks! Our most recent delivery cam from our good friend and previous bottle lamb, January, who gave us three lovely lambs weighing a total of ~35 pounds: Peony (Ewe), Sweet Pea (Ewe), and Putty (Ram)! I'm including a picture of January before delivery, and one of the new happy family! Happy Easter!
