Momilani Farmily

Momilani Farmily Momilani Farmily was established in 2014 and is dedicated to Mālama ʻĀina. Momilani Farm is along the ʻAwehi River in Hilo, Hawai'i. Her name is Lickety.

It is in current development. As it was an old ginger farm in the late 80's and 90's, the land has been fallow for some time and it took six months to clear the land of tall grass, plastic and trenches used for ginger farming. It has been a lot of hard work! Fruit orchards are always an on-going project and two paddocks were fenced for chickens, ducks and Nigerian dwarf/Saanen goats. Our first baby goat was born on the farm on May 15, 2015! A 4 acre parcel is used for sweet potatoes. Another area will be planted in hardwoods. We are currently in the process of building our home and have a small farm building. The mission for the farm is to grow food, live off the grid, be sustainable, plant native plants and trees, and teach others to do the same. We currently sell eggs, herbs (thyme, pineapple sage, basil, oregano, cilantro), tea (mamaki, hibiscus) and have plans for producing and selling goat milk cheese and soaps! Our interests, skills and talents are wide and varied and our work ethics are a testament to what we have achieved in two years! We welcome you to join us! We will be planning work parties and learning events in the coming months and would love to have you involved in our mission.
