Rosie is doing well!
We are expecting puppies in two weeks (+/-) and on Monday Miss Rosie will go see Dr. Wendel for an X-ray to count puppies in utero. We do this so that we know what to expect on that special, special day and so no puppy gets left untended.

We are excited and pleased to share her progress with you.

And thank you to past puppy families for keeping us up-to-date on what this cross looks like! Maggie X Jeter produced beautiful babies and Rosie X Jeter did, too. What fun it is to know that even though our beloved Jeter crossed that "rainbow bridge" folks talk about, he's got some gorgeous sons and daughters out there with happy families.

Maggie is now retired... and setting the good example of a settled down, fond aunt with a great attitude. :)

Rosie is the sweetest thing and Watson, her new paramour is super sweet, too.... He's got that Golden Retriever goofy personality, funny and easy going. Emphasis on goofy! I've included pics from last year's litter of three of the Doodle pups. Two blondes, one silver/gray/black.

We are accepting $200.00 non-refundable deposits on puppies now. Puppies will be $1500.00 each. Mom and Dad have both been DNA tested through Embark with no huge flags, healthy, happy dogs. Selection will be made in the order of deposits received and we'll know next week how many puppies there should be. Pups will be vet-checked and have first shots and will be treated for intestinal worms. (normal procedure)

If something should go wrong and puppies aren't available, deposits will be returned.

Deposit goes toward the full purchase price.

Puppies should be ready for homes in late August.

Well, that rain was a little too generous for our needs... and the wind was ridiculous, wasn't it??? And the mums are actually forming protest lines because they think summer means summer... BUT all is going well and we'll finish planting once fields dry out a bit.... God is good!

:)

We are so blessed to be doing something we love, something that brings family and friends together. And there's plenty of work to be done over the next two months, but we're excited about it! (Or I don't post about the LESS EXCITED faces, LOL!)

Triple mums are waiting to be planted, that's this weekend's task and once planting is done, there's hoeing and weeding and attacking itty bitty bugs that love to spread disease.

But we're on it!

Looking forward to a busy summer filled with ups and downs, puppies, hummingbirds, songbirds, a lot of frogs and toads and keeping the flying squirrels out of the attic.

When you live in a one-hundred-and-seventy-two-year-old house, interesting things happen!!!! :) Pic below is when our farm was featured in Harris Seeds commercial catalog!

We are in full swing of planting time!
School's out for the grandkids and mostly out for the teens so we're avidly planting and organizing....

Thousands of mums are happily ensconced in their pots, thousands of pumpkins are tucked into the ground and we've gotten about 30 loads of asphalt millings into the parking lot and truck path to keep October mud at bay! :) The millings and groundwork aren't the prettiest improvements but they are so necessary for your comfort and ability to park off the road.

We've repurposed the moved top soil to a planting area and the farm's yard... grass to be seeded there this week.

We are so impressed by the kids that come to give us a hand. Every time I read something negative about today's kids, I think of the crews that help us here, kids that come by when they have an hour or two because they know it's all-hands-on-deck time.

A good work ethic doesn't begin in the teens.
It begins when you let them wash dishes (and yeah, break one here or there!), do laundry, fold towels, carry baskets and groceries, and stack wood.... so many small things at ages two and three and four that become ingrained by age twelve.

We are so excited about the coming season! Summer is great...

BUT WE LOVE FALL! :)
Pic is medieval AI of aging Beth and Mandy.... They may scold me for this one, LOL! But the donkeys will LOVE it!

I wanted to give you an update on Rosie's coming litter... if all goes well (and so far, so good!!!) puppies are due the end of June/beginning of July and you know we're going to give them patriotic house names!!!! :) Of course, you do get the right to name your own baby but I expect there will be a Liberty and possibly a pilgrim or Priscilla!!!!

We know this is a big decision for folks. Taking on a puppy is a lot more than cost... it's a commitment. We respect that and we love that we can bring people some full-size Doodles at an affordable price.

Puppies will be $1500.00 each, they will be vet-checked with first shots by Dr. Wendel at Apple Country or Erie Canal Veterinary, they will be loved by way too many grandkids to count, and raised around dogs, cats, a few donkeys and whatever else wanders to the farm!

Also of note, last year's black puppies lightened to a steely gray-and-black-and-white so they don't always stay the color tone you pick! (That was a fun surprise!!!!)

Puppy selection is based on number of puppies and when deposits come in. To reserve a puppy we take a $200.00 non-refundable deposit which goes towards full $1500.00 price. Picking order is based on when deposits are made.... and you are not tied into either gender. You can pick whichever puppy falls in love with you! Or vice-versa!

If for some reason something goes wrong with the puppies, deposits will be refunded to potential owners.

Two things on my mind today!
First... we were so excited to award TWO $1000.00 scholarships to Hilton seniors in memory of our beloved Lisa Tydings, our dear friend and sister in Christ that went home to heaven on August 17, 2020.... and one of her final wishes was to have a scholarship in remembrance of her time as a special education teacher in Hilton's Village Elementary school!

Thank you for your donations to us over the years!!!
We put in money for each pink pumpkin and mum that we sell and for every wreath that people buy... then your "tips" or donations finish off the rest, so thank you!!! Olivia Verhey and Maddie Patton were this year's recipients!!!!

Number two is about puppies: All looks well! Rosie is comfortably progressing along and we are so excited about puppies!!!

I'll write an additional post about that....

Planting pumpkins now and mums begin later this week.
We are so blessed to be here again! This pic is a couple of years old, but this is where we are right now! :)

ALSO: Puppy update!

It definitely looks like we are expecting puppies in about four weeks!

Rosie is scheduled for an X-Ray to confirm the number of puppies later this month and we are very excited to see what this beautiful pairing brings!

Rosie is a 45 lb. Parti-Poodle (liver/brown and white) with a great disposition and a gentle nature. She's bright and funny and still likes to chew things which are usually mine!!!!

Dad is Watson, Mandy and Paul's gorgeous dark red Golden Retriever who fathered his first litter last year and seems quite proud of his contribution! He's gorgeous, sweet-natured, totally goofy and not the brightest bulb if you know what I mean... he can be totally delighted by chasing a little green light. But he's the sweetest thing!

Puppies will be $1500.00, vet-checked, weaned, treated with flea-prevention and early vaccines done. We work with Erie Canal Veterinary Hospital and Apple Country Animal Hospital here in Hilton and Spencerport.

Our puppies are acclimated to children, cats, outdoor critters, loud noises and being handled by a whole crew of people who love puppy time!

We know this is a big decision.
We respect that.
If you decide that you for sure want to go forward with this, a two-hundred dollar deposit holds your spot in line for puppy selection.

The deposit goes toward the purchase price of the puppy.
I will keep a list here of people who have made deposits.
If anything goes wrong with the litter, deposits will be refunded.
If you need to change your mind once puppies are born, the deposit won't be refunded.

We will find out how many puppies in twenty days +/-.

We are very excited about this! Maggie (now spayed) will be the proud aunt and Willow (new this year) will think the puppies are her personal play toys.

They are not and we will let her know that!!! :)
