To everyone asking about our grand opening date… ❤️

I love you all, and I want to share everything happening behind the scenes at Shawarma Queen.

We took this restaurant completely from scratch and rebuilt everything from the ground up — the floors, ceilings, walls, plumbing, electrical work, brand new men’s and women’s restrooms, the indoor and outdoor kitchen, the hood system, fire system, and every single detail you can imagine.

At every step, we had to follow city regulations, inspections, and approvals. Nothing can move forward without passing all official inspections and requirements.

I’m happy to share that:✅ We passed the city inspection on the 19th✅ We passed the fire inspection on the 20th✅ Electricity meters were connected today✅ Gas service has also been connected

What’s left now is:• Final inspection after furnishing• Health department approval after inspection

Our original plan was to have the Grand Opening on 5/26, but the date has been adjusted to the first half of June to make sure everything is absolutely perfect for you and your families.

Starting tomorrow, workers will begin:• Installing the Coca-Cola carbonation machine• Completing the restaurant electrical setup• Testing the AC system• Final cleaning• Furniture installation

I truly miss you all and can’t wait to see everyone again.

You are the reason the food truck grew into a real restaurant built for your comfort and for your families. I have always considered myself part of this community and part of your family.

See you very soon ❤️

My Story – The Journey Continues

💪🫶🌹❤️🫵
I was born in Alexandria, Egypt.

When I was five years old, my mother passed away. My aunt raised me until I was thirteen, and then I moved in with my father, a school teacher.

At fourteen, during the summer of 1989, I secretly started working in a small restaurant. On my first day, I washed dishes. When the grill cook did not show up, the manager gave me a chance. That opportunity changed my life.

By 1990, at just fourteen years old, I became a shawarma maker.
I prepared more than 200 kilograms of meat a day and became known across Alexandria for my skill and speed. Soon, I was producing shawarma for major restaurants in the city.

While studying law at Alexandria University, I built my own shawarma operation inside several university faculties. I hired employees and ran a growing business while completing my degree.

After graduation, I became a lawyer.
I built three law offices and owned multiple restaurants. I was successful and established.

Then, in 2011, everything changed.

After the Egyptian revolution and growing instability, my wife — who had lived in the United States before our marriage — decided to return to America for the safety of our family. I followed, and a new chapter began.

When I arrived in America, I could not speak English at all.
I brought some savings from Egypt and opened my first restaurant in Pennsylvania. But I did not understand the language, the culture, or what American customers preferred. After six months, I had to sell it.

For six months, I worked in a warehouse. It was one of the lowest points of my life.

My brother, Dr. Khaled, told me: “You must study English.”

I moved to Georgia and enrolled in language school for two years. I studied during the day and drove Uber at night. Determined to return to law, I applied for a Master’s degree at Georgia State University and worked with a lawyer in Georgia.

But as the sole provider for my wife and three children, I needed a stronger income. I worked at Publix, learned butchery, and was promoted to Assistant Manager.

Still, I had a dream: to build something of my own again.

I left Publix and invested in a car lift business. It did not succeed. I sold it and bought a small food cart on 10th Street in Atlanta. Slowly, I began to feel success again.

Eventually, I established myself in Buckhead, then purchased a second food truck and placed it in Dallas, Georgia.

Every time I saw families enjoying the food, I felt alive again.

The weather was often difficult — extreme heat, cold winters — but my customers kept coming. Most of them were families, and their loyalty inspired me.

That is why I opened this restaurant.

This place is not just a business.
It is my way of giving back the love that Paulding County gave to me.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Health Department for guiding me and teaching me the standards required for success in the food industry.

My deepest thanks to all my food truck customers who encouraged me to open this restaurant.

And to the residents of Paulding County — thank you for helping me succeed again.

I love and appreciate you all.

The journey continues.
