The Carter Farm Located in northwest IN.This NFP hobby farm/rescue houses needy animals. We Sell eggs to help cover costs. We accept rescue animals and donations.

Animals are pasture raised with plenty of enrichment time. We do accept vegetable,fruit, monetary donations.

Today i picked hooves which is something I've been needing to dp but also cautious because of the salmonella risk and my pregnancy. They reccomended Poppy wears standing wraps 12 hours a day to help support her back legs since her fetlocks are a little low and she had some swelling so mostly support. Jolene learned some important lessons of being tied while i picked her hooves. Shes usually good but occasionally backs up when I lift her leg. This time she stood very good tied with only a tiny freak out moment then she thought it through. Stepped forward with the pressure and then never pulled again. I swear shes going to be the most beautiful, well minded, well rounded horse in the future. Im so excited to start this journey of raising and training a foal. It was a good day.

I've never even had pickled eggs before a few days ago. One of my neighbors lives a bit up the toad and made pickled quail eggs. My pregnancy cravings decided I couldn't live with out them. Now Dixie asks first thing in the morning for one for breakfast 🤣 why do I have to fight my 5 year old for pickled eggs? They're so good though. Highly reccomended. Dan Turpin made some amazing eggs! Check them out if you're local.
