Finally!! After a long hot year in the bee yard we have that sweet golden honey. Still air bubbles in that jar but had to pour early just to see the color.

Honey harvest is right around the corner. As of today the extractor and uncapping tanks are clean and ready. Now let’s see if f the heat lets the HVAC guy have enough time off work to pull supers and get them spun out. Let’s do this!! I want to see this baby full!!

We have had some ups and downs recently. I am so excited to say we have not only a surprise shiitake flush from the standing logs. The crib stacked logs are another story. Those logs inoculated 4 months ago usually wouldn’t produce for a year. You can see the bumps or pins on many of those logs which will also become mushrooms. I cloned this mushroom strain a year ago and now have it doing miraculous things on my spring log inoculations. This is the first of the Brush Creek Shiitake I have been working towards. We can’t wait to see where this goes!! What a surprise!! I never imagined turning back the clock!! Fellow strain hunters and myco enthusiasts, don’t give up. This can be so rewarding!! Perseverance will pay off!!

Due to fighting a cold this week and a mouse that got in the mushroom lab and wreaked havoc. We did not make it to Farmers Market Pleasant Hill MO this week. We apologize for any inconvenience

It’s late but here come the shiitake. It’s hot but we are doing our best to keep up.

Soaking shiitake logs at dark so it’s cool. They say right now the dew point is 80. With the way I am condensing right now, I disagree. Hopefully they grow fast with this heat.

We see some of these. And some others as a specialty vendor.

Let’s hear it from our vendors out there what are the rudest things market goers do at the markets ?

I have great market goers today but had a few long ago that were pills to deal with .

Market goers pi**ed off at other market goers also qualifies to chime in as well .

I think not. And I am sure glad my bees aren’t like that. Well, not really they aren’t my bees I am just their keeper. I am pretty sure they own me honestly.
