When I first started my little business selling homemade baked goods, jams, jellies, eggs, produce, and soaps, it felt like something special. Not many people were doing it, and I had just enough loyal customers to make it worth all the time, effort, and love I poured into it. Every loaf of bread, jar of jam, and bar of soap was made with care, right here at home. Every tomato, cucumber, or egg came from our own garden or coop, never from auction houses or warehouses. It was all planted, grown, mixed, and packaged by me—and the best part? Two little boys were right there helping every step of the way.
Now, it seems like everyone is in the business of selling homemade and homegrown, and it’s hard not to feel lost in the crowd. I’m not the one with perfectly shaped cookies or picture-perfect tomatoes. But what I CAN promise is this: when you choose my goods, you’re getting something 100% real. Something made with love, sweat, and probably a few giggles from my boys.
For me, it’s not just about making and selling—it’s about teaching my boys real-life skills that could one day be invaluable. I want them to know how to plant a garden, how to preserve food, how to care for animals, and how to create something with their own hands. It’s a way to prepare them for a future where we may need to rely on ourselves, where stores might not be an option, and self-sustainability could be the difference between struggle and thriving.
This little business is more than a source of income. Because trust me....most days I simply break even. It’s a way of passing down the values of hard work, resilience, and resourcefulness. To all of you who’ve supported us along the way: thank you. You’re not just buying a loaf of bread or a dozen eggs—you’re supporting a dream, a family, and a life lesson in the making. And for that, we are so grateful. ❤️
