Brookie's Cookies of Twin Acres Estates Inc. Introduces "The Mackenzie" Cookie to Honor Local Advocate and Support EPI
Brookie's Cookies is proud to announce the launch of The Mackenzie Cookie, a special cannabis-infused mint chocolate chip cookie created in honor of Mackenzie Kulawy, whose courage, determination, and advocacy continue to inspire people throughout New York State and beyond.
Beginning immediately, Mackenzie Cookie sales will allow Twin Acres Estates Inc. to make quarterly donations to Empowering People's Independence (EPI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through programs and services that promote independence, inclusion, and personal growth.
The Mackenzie Cookie was created as one of her favorite flavors to celebrate the life and legacy of Mackenzie Kulawy, a young woman whose impact reached far beyond her community. Despite facing significant health challenges, Mackenzie became a passionate advocate for medical cannabis access in New York State. She traveled to Albany and shared her personal story with lawmakers, helping raise awareness about the potential benefits of medical cannabis for patients and families facing serious medical conditions. Her efforts played an important role in the broader movement that ultimately led to the legalization of New York's medical cannabis program.
"Mackenzie showed incredible strength and determination throughout her life," said Brooke Andresen, President of Twin Acres Estates Inc. and the creator of Brookie's Cookies. "She used her voice to help others and made a lasting difference for so many families. We wanted to create something that honors her legacy while continuing to support people in our community."
By partnering with EPI, Twin Acres Estates, through Brookie's Cookies, hopes to continue the spirit of compassion and advocacy that Mackenzie embodied. Every Mackenzie cookie package will help support EPI's mission of empowering individuals to live more independent, fulfilling lives while honoring a young woman who dedicated herself to improving the lives of others. Andresen said, “We hope our contributions to EPI can be used to supplement the expense of their summer camp for many participants in the years ahead, as Mackenzie really enjoyed her time there.”
"We believe Mackenzie's story is one of perseverance, hope, and service to others," Andresen added. "Through the Mackenzie Cookie, her legacy can continue making a positive impact, one delicious, cannabis infused, mint chocolate chip cookie at a time."
The Mackenzie Cookie is now available at Twin Acres Estates Inc. Bud Barn retail dispensary located at 8890 Thompson Road, Holland Patent, NY, and for wholesale purchase by any licensed Adult-Use Recreational Dispensary in NYS. (OCM-MICR-25-000222)
