Founded in 2009, we started as the brainchild of three engineers living in Holland, Michigan. Two of us were devoted home brewers for years, working in a garage with a Sabco Brewmagic and perfecting our recipes. That half barrel system eventually turned into a three barrel system in a 3000 square foot pub with sixty seats. With an emphasis on quality ingredients, consistent recipes, and a passion

for quality control, our three barrel system soon turned into a seven barrel system with a small canning line. Within three years of opening the pub, demand grew and we opened a production facility with a fifteen barrel brewhouse. A year later we moved out of the 3000 square foot pub into a 7000 square foot brewery with a full kitchen. Growth hasn’t come easy for us, but with a foundation built around quality, consistency, and a passion for good beer, Big Lake Brewing has grown more than we could have imagined and we’re excited to see what the future holds.

Mark your calendars! Our 5th annual Oktoberfest Party is coming up on Saturday, September 19th. Join us for a full day of great beer, food specials, and live music. We’re kicking things off with the Bierkeller Boys Oompah Band from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, and Dunegrass will be headlining the stage from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. In between the tunes, test your strength in our afternoon stein-holding competitions, and grab a bite from The Knot Spot on the patio between 5:00 and 7:00 PM. Bring your friends and celebrate our community - you won’t want to miss this. Prost! 🍻
