The lettuce is enjoying this fall weather this morning! Prepping the bed next to it for a fall sowing of Chinese cabbage: pulled the landscape fabric back, removed. Any weeds, added chicken manure and potash to address our potassium deficiency, incorporated it into the surface, raked it smooth, put the landscape fabric down, sowed our seeds, and watered everything well. Ideally I'd have added more compost but we're out of that for now, and transplanting cabbage at this time of year would probably be better but the chinese cabbage seeds was a last minute impulse buy when Johnny's recently had a free shipping weekend 🤷‍♂️

Winding up the last batch of garlic scape pesto for the year. I love stocking our freezer with this recipe

Garlic Scape Pesto 🧄
1 bunch garlic scapes (about 10 scapes)
1/3 cup pine nuts
1/3 cup olive oil
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
S&P to taste

Blend it up in a food processor or blender and enjoy tonight or freeze up to 6 months

Who else is sad to be saying goodbye to garlic scape summer ??
