The Olive Fruit

The Olive Fruit Kiklos by the Olive Fruit is made in limited quantities from the finest Koroneiki olives gently harvested in the Peloponnese region.

For more information see the "Our Story" section. Kiklos is made from only one varietal—Koroneiki Olives, known as the “Queen of Olives” for their taste and antioxidant content— and sourced from only one specific region in Greece called the Peloponnese. It’s made in small limited batches, like fine wine, as homage to our dedication to making genuine, unadulterated, non-infused, naturally delicious

olive oil. From grove to table, every step we take to deliver superior oil expresses our love of olives. We gently hand pick our olives just before they ripen, taking extra care not to harm them or the trees. Then we immediately cold press the olives, without added water, to achieve perfect taste and optimum antioxidant qualities. We purposely leave our oil slightly unfiltered for the best flavor—don't be surprised if you find juicy bits of olive at the bottom of the bottle. You’ll instantly taste the difference with Kiklos’ initial mild and grassy flavor followed by its beautiful peppery crescendo we call the “Kiklos Kick,” a finish, which also happens to signify its inherent antioxidants are working. We capture all of this in a bottle worthy of what’s inside, designed in honor of Greek farmers who paint their olive tree trunks white to protect them from the summer sun. Kiklos can be paired with vegetables, salads, chicken, steak, fish, feta cheese, and of course, fresh bread. However, you may want to do what we do and try it neat.

Heat the olive oil in a flat pot or frying pan. Sauté the onion until it is golden brown. Add the meat and fry while stirring, until the meat is sealed on all sides. Transfer to a colander to drain, and then cool in a bowl. Mix the meat with the remaining filling ingredients.

I like to serve this soup with a side of bruschetta or a caprese salad to make a complete meal. It is also suitable as a first course. Adjust the amount of chipotle pepper to make it more or less spicy, depending on your preference.—Juliana Inhofer, Rocklin, California
