When my husband and I started KCB Farms and decided to travel with our animals to schools, birthday parties, and events, my biggest goal was to keep it small, family-owned, and family-operated.
I never wanted exotic animals or massive trailers. My goal was always to make it affordable for backyard birthday parties and for families who wanted to create something special for their children.
I wanted every child to have hands-on interaction with the animals we brought. I wanted them to be able to ask questions, pet them, learn about them, and experience animals up close that they may not get to see every day.
Over the last two years, running this business has definitely become more challenging. Every dollar we’ve made has gone right back into the farm—providing proper shelters, fencing, insurance, pasture improvements, veterinary care, and making sure our animals are healthy and well cared for.
We don’t have expensive animals, and honestly, that’s one of the ways we’ve been able to keep our party prices affordable for so many families.
So we have a question for all of our followers:
What would YOU like to see from a traveling farm?
What catches your attention when looking to book one? Are there animals you’d love to see? Activities you’d like included? Is there something that would make your child’s birthday party even more special?
Of course, adding more animals, especially rare or exotic ones, would also mean higher event prices. If that’s something families and schools truly want, it’s something we could consider in the future.
But before making any changes, we want YOUR input!
