After plenty of mixing, baking, tweaking, tasting, and maybe a little quality control 🍰😉, it's official...

The Dark Chocolate Rum Cake has earned a spot on the Aunt Sarah's holiday menu this year! 🤎

Rich dark chocolate cake infused with rum and finished with a decadent dark chocolate ganache, this cake is everything a holiday dessert should be: indulgent, memorable, and worthy of a second slice.

I know we're only in June, but as any baker knows, the best holiday treats aren't thrown together at the last minute. They're perfected months in advance.

I can't wait to offer these for your holiday gatherings, family dinners, and dessert tables later this year. Until then, I'll just be over here dreaming about chocolate. 🍫

Sorry I've been a little MIA lately! ❤️

The last few weeks, I've been soaking up every moment with my sweet Annabelle.

She graduated elementary school (I'm not crying, you're crying 😭), had an amazing year-end trip to Mackinac Island that I was lucky enough to chaperone, and wrapped up another incredible dance season. Plus, we planted our garden together! ❤️

Sometimes life reminds you to step away from the to-do list and simply enjoy the moments while they're happening. And that's exactly what I've been doing.

This weekend was full of remembering and honoring our fallen, testing out amazing new recipes (thankfully, with delicious success 😅), incredible workouts at Impactt Fitness and getting that much-needed boost of energy and hydration from Holly Nutrition ❤️

Made homemade granola bars yesterday with my daughter, and they are delish!

Oats, pepitas, almonds, pecans, almond butter, honey, cinnamon, dried apricots, flaxseed, Chai seeds... all the good stuff 🤤

Ok, so I know some of you are going to think I’m absolutely crazy for this… but honestly, I’m fine with that 😂🫣

I am ALREADY thinking about Harry Potter Night in Holly ⚡🪄

And with the new Harry Potter series coming later this year… I have a feeling this year’s event is going to be extra magical 👀✨

More specifically… I’m already thinking about what Sugar Plums Sweet Shoppe (Aunt Sarah) is bringing this year 😅🍫

So entertain the idea with me for a minute and tell me what YOU want to see more of this year! Favorite treats? Returning items? Things you wish I would make?

I do plan on adding some new items this year… and retiring a few others 🥸✨

Friday night, we took a stroll through Downtown Holly, and came across this gem in Battle Alley! Sip & Saddle

The owner is so sweet, the drinks are amazing, and the interior is incredibly cute with pink walls, white and gold accents, and the cutest little details everywhere. And let’s not forget the blinged-out outlet covers 😍

Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Holly!

Honestly one of my favorite things about small businesses- We all pour so much into what we do, so being able to support each other along the way just means a little more ☺️

Well all, the honey cake didn’t sell… which honestly turned out perfectly fine, because by the time they finished baking, my family had already talked me into keeping one for ourselves 😂😊

The house smells SO good when these cakes are in the oven. The smell of warm honey just fills the air and somehow makes everything feel a little cozier and a little simpler. It’s one of those smells you can’t help but stop and breathe in for a second 😊

So when I found this amazing candle by Fritz & Fern at Altered Designs that smells almost exactly like these honey cakes baking… of course I had to score one for myself 😅🍯

Because that warm, comforting feeling that makes you smile a little? Yeah… it’s just too good to pass up ☺️
