Since my childhood I've loved collecting cookbooks and recipes of all kinds. As I became more health and environmentally conscious, I started creating and reinventing recipes to be more balanced, nutritious, plant based and definitely as tasty as possible. Some years ago, I created Killer Brittle which I revised from a not-so-healthy version. My husband, who's very selective about eating anything
too sweet, became my resident taste tester and absolutely loved it! His enthusiasm was contagious and I agreed with him that I should start sharing my delicacy with others. I hand delivered my brittle to family, friends and neighbors and in time created custom labels for little kraft bags, filling them with Killer Brittle. I was so happy to see the smiles and receive compliments while serving as a dessert and giving it as a gift for housewarmings, holidays and birthdays. Those that tasted Killer Brittle loved the taste and texture and encouraged me to take it to a larger audience. My Killer Brittle "fans" commented on the "perfectly sweet and delicately crunchy" treat, thrilled it was “packed with nuts and less candy coating" in addition to being Vegan, GF, Keto Friendly and Preservative Free. Like many other companies during the pandemic, our art consulting business of 25 years had been hit hard, so in January, 2023 I started my Killer Brittle business on Etsy. I've been able to incorporate my creativity into my new business and am now offering five flavors; Cashew, Coconut Cashew, Peanut, Pecan and Walnut Brittle. Of course, everyone has their own favorite flavor and the whole process continues to be a wonderful learning experience and lots of fun for me! I'm thrilled when someone places an order and love to think about people all over the US enjoying Killer Brittle and sharing it with their loved ones :)
I'm proud to be a 100% Woman Owned Business and also an Etsy "star seller" continuously for the past 6 months. I look forward to, and appreciate reading the positive reviews my buyers take time to leave, and although I haven't been an Etsy seller for a full year, I'm excited to see what the holiday season will bring and fingers crossed, see Killer Brittle continue to grow.
