SCF Sun, Harvest Moon, & Substack Rising 🌕🕯️📝

🔗 We’ve got news!! We’re launching on Substack. ⚡️

As you all know, our volunteers work hard in finding ways to fundraise and use resources to sustain and grow the work we do at Solar Community Farm. We’ve gotten asked many times on how allies and community can directly support us outside of the garden, that we’ve decided to launch a monthly newsletter via Substack!!

There, you’ll find reflections from different volunteers (radical truths) , embracing seasonal change (recipes anyone?!) , making room for joy, and honoring the land and community we’re apart of. 🫀

As we continue to expand and stand firm in this dying empire, we cling onto what feels sacred. Tending to our garden is with you! We hope to show up as a steady beacon for seasons to come! 🌀

We thank you for supporting the work we do at SCF.

With Love & Gratitude,
SCF Team

when everything feels broken, we look to the Earth.

while others are celebrating a colonial empire, we are sending waves of gratitude to our Great Mother, this beautiful living planet.

as the world seems in chaos, she brings us the soothing we need, if only we allow ourselves to remember her language.

each footstep here, on this stolen land, is a privilege. and its also a duty. we must tend to this land, care for Her, and love Her deeply. that is the work of liberation. that is how we bring justice.

Happy Pride Month cuties~ 🍅🍑🍋🥬🫐🍆🥔

An extra special time of year for all of us and a courageous reminder of what safe, loving, and fun connection can look like for q***r community.

As many of us know:
— the Pride movement is founded on the tireless acts of Black Trans Women and Le****ns, and the quiet acts of care that communities of color have offered for rejuvenation and love.

Our relationship with this abundant, q***r Earth, is forever growing and this Pride month is all the more reminder of our commitment to this work (and of the rest our committee needs rn too 😅💤). We are brewing some offerings for this month and beyond & are excited and humbled by all of your continued support.

Stay sweet and allow yourself to feel celebrated as you should everyday!

SCF workday for another new plot 🌱☑️

We really have the best community yall 😭. A loved ones backyard, 17+ set of hands, plant starts, and lots of love really got our next site up and running.
    ⁃ we prepped the soil
⁃ transplanted peppers, herbs & flowers
    ⁃ ate yummy food
    ⁃ danced & made art
    ⁃ played & got it done 🏳️‍🌈💪🏼🏳️‍⚧️

While the steps we make towards collective liberation can feel small at times, it’s days like these we are reminded of the strength and joy that we have together.

shoutout V for the voiceover ty cutie ;)
& thank you to the incredible volunteers that supported us in bringing life here. (you know who you are!!)

SCF is advancing food sovereignty in South Carolina

We do this thru;
🍃 growing food
🍃 supporting qtbipoc community
🍃 building relationship with the land

Our work is rooted in the wisdom of people who have done this for all of time ~ indigenous land stewards & ancestral wisdom holders who keep the sacred traditions alive.

&& as always, we are grateful to all of the volunteers, community members, and mentors who support us in this work!
