Small Acre Family with Big Hearts
We are a small family homestead that started out raising a few chickens that grew into raising a few head of beef cattle for our own family freezer. We decided that since we have the means to raise beef cattle and the family is drinking two gallons of milk every day, why not get a family milking cow? Well, that one milking cow soon led to milking two Jersey cows.
We are hard workers raising our five boys, three of which still live at home. We both have full time jobs outside the home. Two of the boys work, very part time at our local Price Chopper, and our youngest currently is a sophomore at Kearney Senior High School involved in Musical and Cross Country. We strive to teach our children the value of helping others, being kind, respectful and helpful to neighbors and friends and the importance of family. They may not all the little chores that go along with the homestead but do love the raw milk, homemade ice-cream, raw butter, grilling sirloin steaks with a side of fresh garden salad and homegrown green beans from our garden. When we give thanks for what we have we can appreciate and enjoy all our hard word it took to get that meal on the table. We believe in helping others, learning, growing in all areas of our life and enjoying a relaxing glass of lemonade or Kombucha with family and friends after a long day.
Yes, having a homestead requires work and keeps us tied down to home often but it also keeps us involved with others and has built in exercise so one does not ever needs a gym membership. We love hearing stories from customers that come to pick up their Raw Milk or connect with by pulling in the driveway and asking about our garden. By the way we are professional w**d growers and occasionally get a great harvest from the garden along with the w**ds. Thank you for your support.
