Today was a good day. ♥️
🩵 Brown and Grey are settling in beautifully. They’re getting more comfortable with their new home, the herd, and us each day. They’ve taken a special liking to Annie and Diva, and it’s been wonderful watching those connections begin to form. 😊
🩵 We also got their shade shelter set up in preparation for the rainy week ahead. Despite the sails flapping and flying around while Rob installed them, neither mare seemed concerned at all!
🩵 Domino and Grey have become fast friends. They spend a lot of time meeting at the fence throughout the day, checking in on each other and sharing quiet moments. 🥰
🩵 Buttercup is loving all the new company. She gets excited when the horses nap near her pen, come into the barn to exchange nose-to-nose greetings, and is becoming more relaxed and trusting with us every day.
🩵 Ember has made some wonderful progress this week. She’s more comfortable with us being close, is taking more food from our hands, and has even started following me around the pen from time to time. Her eyes are softer, her head is lower, and she’s noticeably less reactive to the world around her.
🩵Apache- my man, he’s been so affectionate and caring. Always looking for those snuggles and kisses. He really does make my heart full in so many ways. 🫶
I couldn’t be happier with the progress Ember and Buttercup have made during their first week here and seeing Brown and Grey, who spent much of their lives with very little equine companionship, begin to enjoy being part of a herd has been incredibly rewarding. Watching these relationships grow is one of the best parts of rescue. ♥️🐴🫏✨
