These teeth are made of ivory. Amber Temmen learned this when she shot her first bull elk…5x6 rack field dressed at 720 # during cancer treatments ((11months double chemo & 25 rounds of radiation after spinal resection surgery at L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, S1 & S2 with no reconstruction)) in 2005. She earned her battle scars as well as her trophy bull & made the cover of Safari Club International Magazine.

The elk has two incisor teeth that do not break down and decay like its other teeth. The people of the northern plains use these for decoration and once used them as a type of currency. It takes a long time for a hunter to save enough teeth to cover a dress. If a family has the means, they might trade for these precious teeth. Each tooth is usually drilled with a single hole to be sewn on the dress or made into jewelry. They may cover a caplet of a dress, the bodice of the dress, or the dress down to the knees. So a dress may have more added over time as the family obtains them. Women and girls wear their elk tooth dresses, if they have them, on ceremonial occasions. The dress displays the family’s status, hunting ability, and ability to trade.

Saturday went pretty good! We managed to work together workin up the 200+ # “lamb” known as Butthead. I will make a post tomorrow showing a few processing steps. We thank GOD for the ability to raise our own meat animals and to be able to give them the best life possible. 💕🙏🏼💕

Have your emotions been ALL OVER THE PLACE? .....Everything feeling upside down?...

Just as the moon's gravity alone has the power to move the tides across this planet ..... Astrologically......RIGHT NOW....alot is happening above our heads....

The HEAVENS are about to put on quite the SHOW over the next couple weeks....and it's energies are affecting the entire planet....

1. Tomorrow begins the Full Worm Moon Lunar Eclipse... its called the Worm Moon because its the time earth worms appear as the ground thaws. Spiritually Lunar Eclipses are times to release what no longer serves us.....this Eclipse takes place in Libra...meaning relationships will be undergoing contemplation...Libra is the sign of scales...so it will be about finding balance in relationships...letting GO or getting deeper...whichever brings about BALANCE.

2. April 8th... a once every 375 year event takes place....we are gonna see a FULL Solar Eclipse from Mexico, thru the USA to Canada.... Solar Eclipses are believed to bring about ENLIGHTENMENT .... Spiritual Awakening, Transformation and Rebirth .... Solar Eclipses are believed to HIGHLIGHT the things that exist in the shadows and bring them to the forefront.

3. The Green Devil Comet will also reappear after 71 years during this Solar Eclipse ......and should be visible with the naked eye.....some cultures believe comets to be very fortuitous while others believe them to be bad omens....the Green Devil Comet was named for the Green colour gas it burns and the 2 horn shapes that appear around its coma or core.....Comets symbolize unpredictability, disruption, and Revolution.

4. A NOVA or an exploding star is ALSO about to be added to our night sky as star T Coronae Borealis is expected to explode any time now....with the power of a nuclear bomb in space it will be visible to the naked eye 3000 light years away.....near the North Star....Spiritually this event is seen as an ending and Rebirth...

5. April 4th...A once every 175 year event is also occurring as Venus, Saturn, Mars and Neptune all align in the night sky....on the same side of the sun as EARTH.... planetary alignment symbolizes a shift in global energy.... such as from war to peace.....or vice versa.

6. April 20th....brings a Jupiter conjunction with Uranus ....which happens every 80 years or so....bringing societal change...Jupiter is the planet of Abundance, Fortune and Expansion....Uranus is the planet of Sudden change and Revolution.....

Alot of energy is being emitted in our direction from the universe in a compact amount of time.... NO WONDER we are feeling out of sorts in this YEAR OF THE DRAGON..... Hang on to your hats as we ride this celestial wave of global transformation.

The other day I was hanging out with a friend. This friend is a Christian, but she doesn’t always act, speak or think like one. Some days, she is completely in-line with God’s path and some days, her life is a struggle that gets the best of her.

As our eyes met, I really wanted to say something about it, but, I decided to let the Lord speak to her heart, knowing nothing that I say will have the same impact as God’s words.

So…. I prayed with her, and after some time had passed, I winked at her, and walked away from the mirror.

I try everyday, and I fail everyday.
I am so not perfect, I am a work in progress, and I'm thankful for God’s grace and His promises .

The Arkansas Wild Man. Sightings of Bigfoot are nothing new in the Ozarks. The Arkansas Wild Man was first reported in eastern Arkansas in 1834, and was hypothesized to be a survivor of the New Madrid earthquakes of 1811-12, who had "gone feral". Footprints measuring 22 inches were noted in addition to sightings of the wild man who appeared larger than an average man, and covered in brownish hair. Sightings continued every few years, and in 1851 an expedition was organized by David Cross to find the elusive Wild Man, but with no success.

In 1851, the Vermont Watchman and State Journal, among other newspapers, reported that two men were hunting in Greene County, Arkansas, when they saw something “bearing the unmistakable likeness of humanity” chasing a herd of cattle. “He was of gigantic stature, the body being covered with hair, and the head with long locks that fairly enveloped his neck and shoulders.” The creature stopped and stared at them for a few moments and then ran into a patch of woods “with great speed, leaping from twelve to fourteen feet at a time.”

The Athens Post., July 25, 1856, Athens, Tenn.:
"The Wild Man of Arkansas. A Bitter and a Gouger. The famous Arkansas wild man has been encountered lately near Sunflower Prairie. Chase was made after him by a party accompanied by dogs. One of the party in chase, who was mounted on a fleet horse, headed him just as he emerged from the woods to which he had taken when discovered, but as soon as he found himself at bay he bounded at the rider, tore him from his saddle, gouged out one of his eyes, and bit a large piece from his shoulder. He then threw the saddle and bridle from the horse mounted the animal and dashed off at full speed. The rider's party have been joined by a party of Indians and continued the chase, and a belief is entertainment in Arkansas that he will be captured. Described as an athletic man, about 6 feet four inches high, and covered with hair of a brownish cast. He has evidently been an adapt to the South western system of fighting biting and gouging."

In 2018 it was reported that unexplained, large footprints were found near the Diamond Crater State Park, and sightings of Bigfoot were reported.

"The dandelion is the only flower that represents the the sun, moon and stars. The yellow flower resembles the sun, the puff ball resembles the moon, and the dispersing seeds resemble the stars.

The dandelion flower opens to greet the morning and closes in the evening to go to sleep. Every part of the dandelion is useful: root, leaves, flower. It can be used for food, medicine and dye.

Until the 1800s people would pull grass out of their lawns to make room for dandelions and other useful “weeds” like chickweed, malva, and chamomile.

The name dandelion is taken from the French word “dent de lion” meaning lion’s tooth and they have one of the longest flowering seasons of any flower. Seeds are often carried as many as 5 miles from their origin. Animals such as birds, insects and butterflies consume nectar or seed of dandelion.

Dandelion do not need to be pollinated to form seed. They were well known to ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans, and have been used in Chinese traditional medicine for over 1,000 years. Dandelion is used in folk medicine to treat infections and liver disorders. Tea made of dandelion act as diuretic.
