The Barefoot Filly Equestrian Center is owned and operated by Jill and Diego Palenzuela. We purchased the farm in February of 2012. We strive to maintain a friendly, family-oriented environment for our students, boarders and their families, and a safe, happy place for our equine friends. Both Jill and Diego have a lifetime of experience owning, riding and competing with horses. Diego grew up in Fl

orida and has a background in team roping as a header. Jill grew up in Alpharetta, Georgia and has trained and competed in hunter jumpers for over 25 years. Jill teaches English riding lessons at the farm and off-site. She specializes in the hunter/jumper discipline with some basic dressage incorporated as well. Jill places an emphasis on equitation and strong communication and harmony between horse and rider. Her missions is to provide a positive, rewarding experience for the rider that is both educational and fun.

Our Story

The Barefoot Filly Equestrian Center is a training, breeding and boarding facility that is owned by Chris and Jenny Kitchens and managed by Jill and Diego Palenzuela. We breed and raise quality warmblood sport horse prospects for dressage, hunters, jumping and eventing. We also offer riding lessons on our lessons horses, as well as on-site horse training. Megan Griffin is our on-site instructor and horse trainer. Megan is an accomplished equestrian who has proven herself to be a successful trainer of both english and western discipline horses. Her background in rodeo events and barrel racing, where she received many significant awards in National High School Rodeo. Megan makes sure her students receive extensive knowledge in horsemanship, horse care, and safety, as well as good sportsmanship during their lessons. We strive to maintain a friendly, family-oriented environment for our students, boarders and their families, and a safe, happy place for our equine friends. Both Jill and Diego have a lifetime of experience owning, riding and competing with horses. Diego grew up in Florida and has a background in team roping as a header. Jill grew up in Alpharetta, Georgia and has trained and competed in hunter jumpers and dressage for over 30 years. Jill currently competes in dressage through second level, and is managing the sport horse breeding program. We offer quality sport horse prospects for sale as weanlings, yearlings, two year olds and in utero.
