Happy Hump Day! Just wanted to show off this delicious dinner we made last night. I didn’t feel like cooking and couldn’t figure out what sounded good, so I snagged one of my dry packed meals from the shop and omgoodness it was so good. I added ham and bacon! I am going to be more intentional about making these and keeping them stocked. They are shelf stable for months and months, and they can also be shipped!
But the best part is that they are budget friendly! It’s no secret that everyone is feeling the pinch and cutting back. These dry packed meals are 1/2 the cost of my freezer meals because they are far cheaper and easier to make. Plus they cook much faster. Not do***ng my freezer meals lol they are the BEST however you do have more budget friendly options when shopping with me. Keep them in your pantry for a lazy dinner night, take them camping or store them for food security. Either way they will taste just as fresh and delicious! I’ve been trying to think of a fun name for them just besides “dry packed meals” and I think I want to call them “Porch Swing Pantry Pouches” how’s that for a tongue twister?!
The freezer is slim and I have maybe 10 pouches on hand… so I am due for a restock. Unfortunately I don’t have the capital to spend an arm and a leg on packaging and ingredients for said restock… so I will be chipping away over the next few weeks trying to fill up the shop. As far as the retail side of things, I am going to focus soley on preparing food that can be preserved (dry or frozen). 80% of everything that I have made over the last month didn’t sell, and out of all the pre-ordered menus I maybe got 1 customer that actually ordered. So I don’t plan to continue to keep fresh food or desserts in stock at this time. But I do plan to keep a few dessert options in the freezer and MAYBE a brownie or cookie flavor for the days I plan on being open. That being said, I don’t know what hours will look like moving forward. Business is so slow that I’m not getting foot traffic even being open just 1 day a week, I can’t risk being open more days just to throw more away. It’s been a struggle adapting to the market on the retail end of things.
I will be closed this Friday for the Holiday weekend and starting after that I will post each week what day I will be open and what is available. Days and hours will change each week and I will post every weekend what the upcoming week will look like. So many food businesses are closing because of the rising costs of food and utilities and losing foot traffic, it’s so sad to see and we will do everything we can to not have to cross that bridge. Thank you all for hanging in there, we are doing our best to keep rockin & rollin 🩷✨🍽️
