A bit of reflection: since moving to Homer, Alaska in the fall of 2012 our farm has grown from a dream to helping other Alaskans grow GARLIC. This post is a SHOUT OUT to our loyal hungry customers and to the Homers Farmers Market. Well done! Our farm made it through the tough times, (cause customers support what is GOOD ) the wet summers, and so has the market. It’s late August, the rains have eagerly arrived and all our GARLIC is harvested, curing and finding homes as well as new gardens to multiply in. With all this heart felt peace, I call out again to bring your friends, come to the Homer Farmers Market up until the last market; we growers do need each of you to show up, buy and enjoy the harvest. I’m talking cucumbers, sugar snap peas, shelling peas, new crops of radishes, favorites and new veggies to add to your menus. Soon the colorful potatoes, Brussels, tomatoes and more fill our vending tables. By Saturday, I’m excited to share what our team harvested. I love seeing smiles, the faces of folks deciding what and how much to buy. That’s our reward. Often when someone comes out to tour the farm, they comment on how much “work” it is to grow food, and how little they knew about what goes into getting quality organic food to the table. We live and love it! It’s as real as it gets. I’ll end this with THANKS, there are 9 more solid opportunities, including Wednesday markets to get the best your hard earned money can buy. Your health matters. I want everyone to eat like an organic farmer even if you didn’t grow it yourself! OH, our Synergy Gardens is open every Thurs. and Friday 1-6 pm to buy direct. Pick your own Peas has started too, save big on the Sugar Snap and Shelling Peas as you pick em yourself. Of course we offer GARLIC. We offer once again, the Fall Root Share-4 weeks in OCT. to load up on great food . I’ll hold your spot, we take just 20 folks for the Root Share! Thanks
