In the 1950s food had something we called nutrients and taste. via The Cornucopia Institute

Fruits and vegetables grown decades ago were much richer in vitamins and minerals than the varieties most of us get today. The main culprit in this disturbing nutritional trend is soil depletion. Modern intensive agricultural methods have stripped increasing amounts of nutrients from the soil in which the food we eat grows. The solution is to purchase local, organic food from farmers that value their soil. Know your farmer, know your food!

Let's show the EPA we are concerned about toxic chemicals that have replaced ! Sign the petition.

A new study just revealed that the chemicals replacing BPA in most of our plastics are just as bad or worse for us than BPA itself. Tell the EPA to stop letting companies replace one toxic chemical with another.

Our campaign has been in the news today... It seems that people are starting to grow more tomatoes at home - sales of ‘heirloom’ British tomato seeds are up 40%! http://dailym.ai/1h2pfq2

Also today, our head of horticulture Ben Raskin has been at the Edible Garden Show (with James Wong and HRH the Prince of Wales) to let people know about our campaign to safeguard our seeds, and stand up against the new EU seed regulations.

Hialeah's name is most commonly attributed to Muskogee origin "PRETTY PRAIRIE". Alternatively, the word is of Seminole origin meaning "Upland Prairie". The city is located upon a large prairie between Biscayne Bay and the Florida Everglades.

This "high prairie" caught the eye of pioneer aviator Glenn Curtiss and Missouri cattleman James H. Bright who saw great potential in 1921. Influencing the creation of Hialeah's beautiful neighbor Miami Springs.

Miami suburbs such as Coral Gables, Florida and Opa-locka, Florida, formed some of the first planned communities in the state.

It has now become one of the most economically successful immigrant enclaves in U.S. history as Hialeah is the only American industrial city that continues to grow. Hialeah is the tenth-largest city in the United States among cities with a population density of more than 10,000 people per square mile.

Home of Hialeah Park, Miami Jockey Club, the world's greatest race course. Hialeah, Miami's Pretty Prairie.
