An alignment among the stars has reigned for nine years, and now they shift their constellation anew.

For nearly a decade, Rabid has called Homewood home. We came into being, forced the digital eyes of world mapping authorities to recognize Bretz as a real street, and hosted a near-decade-long party with all of you.

You, the creatives, gave Rabid its very breath. You, the nerds, gave Rabid its sense of wonder. You, the revolutionaries, gave Rabid its strength of heart. You, the weird ones, gave shape to Rabid's very soul.

The world around us is changing, and so must we. We have found a new nexus of power in the earth, a location not far from here that calls us. That location is in Lansing, IL.

All that we have created together — the new friendships forged, the nights of high strangeness, the spirit of lost family found, the halcyon magic of our diverse blood — these things have found a new cradle, and they will bloom bigger than this room could hold.

To get there we must release the old terra firma, conjure new wings, and leap.
Come celebrate the kiss goodbye to the Bretz location that served as the foundation for every strange and beautiful thing we have made together.

April 22 — The Final Wednesday… with one more Bossface grin.
April 23 — The Final Thorsday… with Margarita's Last Lotería.
April 24 — The Final Friday… get sage wisdom from Leader Lady, then scream a final song with the Nanshee. The last pour. The last song. The door closes after.

There is no date certain for the rings of the phoenix to form and the new doors in Lansing to open, but the new constellation is already taking its shape. Come out and make the End of Bretz the glorious goodbye it deserves.

Two weekends left in the old haunt. The walls are listening harder than usual. The nexus is calling.

TONIGHT (Freyday) — Leader Lady starts the day, then The PhenomeNan is behind the bar and we need you to bring her a hand-drawn sketch of a flower with teeth. Offer her NO EXPLANATION or the spell will be ruined.

SATURNDAY — Chicago Knockouts descend at 7PM to host CKO Bingo, which sounds like a numerology racket, but we're pretty sure they're casting boons on everyone. What happens after Bingo is not yet knowable by mortal means.

Two weekends. Then the Bretz doors close and the rest is Lansing. Come drink the place dry.

BREAKING NEWS: We have been purchased by Necromantic Goat Wizards (NGW). After years of negotiation, the goats have won. Effective immediately, Rabid belongs to them. We tried to fight it. We lost.

Our Homewood taproom closes Friday, April 24th. Last pints. Last night. No joke.

Ok, ok, we were not victims of a hostile necromantic goat wizard takeover, — but we ARE relocating to a historic building in Lansing, IL. It’s a bigger space, a better location, and the next chapter.

Come hang with us before April 24th. The goat wizards will not be there. Probably.
