Lots of invasive plant battles on the farm. Our latest nemesis is a gold raspberry. Sounds harmless enough. Even conjures thoughts of breakfast jam. This plant is evil and propagates quickly.

We have many hours in carefully cutting, removing and burning this plant.

2 more weeks of clearing coffee rows. Pulling invasives from the ground with a w**d jack. Cutting down Christmas berry and removing volunteer coffee. Harvesting rocks a small section at a time, then spreading a blanket of mulch.

End result will be much easier maintenance.

Thanks for following.

We have floated into the clouds today. Wow, the coffee was good this morning!!

Another successful weekend of clearing and brush maintenance was had this weekend. Here are 2 short videos showing what we have cleared and are maintaining. Note that all of these areas were impassable even 3 to 4 years ago. It is so rewarding to be able to freely walk through these sections today.

With more clearing of stumps, filling of holes and harvesting of rocks, we can continue mulching and transplanting ground cover.

Slowly we will get this under control.

Anyone know why we can't add 2 videos? Button says "add more" but just switches between video one and two.

Just harvested a Rollinia at just under 7 pounds.
This is the first one we have eaten. The animals got to the others before we did.

Very tender flesh. Not fibrous at all.
Lots of seeds but in a pattern.
Midly sweet. Perhaps this is low on the glycemic index(?).
Supposed to be really good in a smoothie. We will scoop the rest for a smoothie.

More clearing efforts. We have been battling this section of the farm since day one. We make a little progress, then focus efforts elsewhere and it grows back quickly, negating any efforts. We have learned with successes in other parts of the farm, that there is a threshold of clearing we have to cross in order to easily maintain after. That effort is going to be significant and require follow up maintenance every 5 to 7 days for several months. Only then will we get ahead of the invasive plants.

Thanks for following. More updates soon.

*Note. Just fixed a few typos. Wow. You all are kind.
