Guy’s Nuts expansion update: My nuts are settling into their new home.
The cooking and cooling layout is mostly in place. Tomorrow I’ll level the prep table so everything stays where I put it. Rolling nuts should be a game, not a production problem.
The current packaging table will be changed out, with the Nutmaster 5000 and Sackmaster 6900 each getting its own table at a height suited to the job. Operator comfort and speed matter when you’ve got hundreds of sacks to fill and seal.
The exhaust hood and three-bay sink arrive in a few days. The sink will go in the room with the mixer, hand sink, storage racks and cleaning supply closet.
An upright freezer will replace the black-and-yellow storage totes beside the cooker for storing raw nuts.
And that battered cardboard box? The new stainless steel table arrived looking like it had fought its way here. Thankfully, the table came through better than the packaging.
There’s still installation and finishing work ahead before the Department of Agriculture inspection, but the new Guy’s Nuts production space is coming together, one piece at a time.
Thank you to everyone who’s bought a sack, shared a post, or told somebody about Guy’s Nuts. Your support helped make this move possible.
More room for my nuts. More room to grow.
Awful Names… Awesome Taste!
