was founded in 1983 by Mike Hsia and Amy Kang. The company’s initial goal was to provide Hawaiian shave ice equipment and accessories to the Hawaii public. After several years of dedication to the local shave ice industry, H.T.K. was presented with the opportunity to purchase Hawaiian Snow, an established flavor company in California. Upon purchasing Hawaiian Snow we decided we would bring Hawaiia
n Snow from California to Hawaii so we could produce the syrups and concentrates locally. In 1994, due to increased local and mainland demand, H.T.K. moved to its current two story warehouse/showroom in Kalihi. Changes in technology also brought forth changes in the way the company did business, so in 2004 www.hawaiiansnowflavors.com was set up so that our customers could readily access our companies products, services, and support. After 4 years of successful online sales, we decided to expand and redesign our online site with the name www.shaveicesupplies.com to further serve our customers. In a effort to consolidate the Hawaiian shave ice industry, in April of 2008 H.T.K. Hawaii purchased Pure Gold Ice Company, a respected supplier of block ice to successful shave ice establishments around the island. Times have certainly changed over the years but here at H.T.K. Hawaii we remain committed to our goal of sharing with the world what Hawaiian shave ice is all about.
