My surprising farmer confession is that I don't love tomatoes. In fact when I was a child I despised them powerfully. These days, I quite appreciate them in a BLT, cooked pretty much any way, or in a well-composed salad. I admire their many colors and shapes, and enjoy tending to the plants. But you won't *ever* catch me snacking on cherry tomatoes! And the thought of tomato soup or gazpacho is revolting to me. 😝
What popular vegetable do you secretly dislike? Or do you have other tomato recipe ideas for me?

P.S. There are soooo many gorgeous cherry and heirloom tomatoes in the farm stand today.

Alert!! Our fan favorite romano beans are stocked in the farm stand! These heirloom Italian beans are super tender and flavorful, I love to even eat them raw. Awesome just steamed or sauteed with butter, they are also amazing with tomatoes, and hold up well in soups and stews.

We also just stocked a ton of fresh-picked cherry and heirloom tomatoes, salad mix, cucumbers, new potatoes, French green beans, and so much more!

Y'all, this smoke is no joke. We hope you're able to take care of yourselves out there! We and our employees worked all day, harvesting for market tomorrow, through hazy air that smelled like a campfire and intensely warm temperatures. Some of us wore masks, and we all moved a little slower, but we just kept going.
Harvesting, washing, and packing the produce that will grace your tables this week. We brought in SO much salad mix and arugula, so you don't have to worry about getting a parasite while just trying to eat your greens!
Here's what you can expect to find at Elberta Community Farmers Market tomorrow, and also at our farm stand at 11664 Fewins Rd in Honor:
Salad mix, arugula, microgreens, lettuce heads, cabbage, kale, basil, parsley, carrots, radishes, beets, kohlrabi, fennel, broccolini, eggplant, cucumbers, summer squash, sprouting cauliflower, cherry and heirloom tomatoes, the last of the sugar snap peas, French green beans, new potatoes, and lots of pasture raised pork!

We have an immediate opening to fill on our team this season! If you take joy in working outdoors (in all weather conditions), value continuous learning and improvement, can work with hustle, and want to grow beautiful veggies for your community, this job could be a great fit!

There's no denying it's intensely physical, so you'll need to be able to stand, crouch, kneel and bend for long periods; lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently; and have the stamina for a long work day - four 9 hour days a week.

You can find more details and application info on our website. We look forward to hearing from you!
