Our sweet friend Tania (Yes! From Yoga With Tania at the farm) is raising money to help her Palestinian friend Rima. Rima and her three children made it out of Gaza and are now living in Cairo as refugees. Her husband was not allowed to leave Gaza with them without first paying a $5,000 fee. Tania is hoping to raise enough money to safely get Rima’s husband out of Gaza and to help pay for their rent, food, transportation, and school for the kids. As refugees they are not being adequately supported by the Egyptian government. Please make a donation, any amount helps. Keep this family together, safe, and alive.

I spent the morning with my sweet friend Letty of Farm gleaning celery, parsley, potatoes, carrots, onions, cilantro and green onions from their micro farm in Portland. These veggies are being donated to a collective care project where they will be turned into delicious meals for our Palestinian community members. The community apothecary also us generously donated some tinctures as well. If you are a farm in the Portland metro area you can check out the last slide for information on how you can donate produce from your farm to this project. I also have a couple of weeks left in town before I head to the Philippines where I can come and glean on your farm. Reach out!

1️⃣ Meet Alyssa! She loves biking! We loved seeing her roll up to the Filipino Bayanihan Center on Thursdays to snag her CSA share.

2️⃣ “Kasama Farm’s CSA has been one of the highlights of my time in Portland, and a big part of what makes the city feel like home! I wasn’t sure what to expect when I signed up for a share last year, and it has felt so wonderful to be connected to this place through food grown by such wonderful farmers”

3️⃣ “I’m half Filipino, but didn’t grow up eating much Filipino food beyond lumpia, adobo, and pancit at occasional family gathering. Learning about Kasama’s family recipes and getting introduced to veggies in Filipino cuisine was a lesson I had been craving for ages but hadn’t known how to find”

4️⃣ “Getting to know Leilani & Jihelah through working side by side on farm data + seeing each other at community events was also special, and I feel the love and care put into what they grow. I’ve told so many friends about Kasama and am so grateful to be a part of this community! Slide into my dm’s if you have any questions :)”
