We are heading into pear season here at Smiley’s. 🍐 Summer pears consist of Bartletts, Red Bartletts and Starkrimsons. These pears ripen on their own!!! After these varietals come the winter pears. They follow a different ripening process. Check out our cheat sheet on ripening fruit. (Asian Pears ripen like apples…fyi). And the peach sale is still on! 🍑

Hwy 35 will remain closed during the day for a bit it sounds like. Good thing we are 5 miles south of I-84 and the Hwy is OPEN by us. The fruit stand is stocked and ready to get peaches/pears/Gravensteins etc into your hands. Swing by and say hi!
