The secret behind that Rainier cherry blush

Out here in the orchard, we are laying Mylar beneath the Rainier cherry trees. The reflective surface bounces sunlight back up into the canopy, helping color the underside of the fruit — the part the sun doesn’t always reach on its own.

That extra reflection helps create the beautiful red blush over the golden-yellow Rainier cherry that people know and love.

It’s one of those small details most people never see, but it makes a big difference. Great cherries are grown through timing, patience, and a thousand careful decisions before they ever reach the box.
