Moving along. All the concrete is broken.
So a little over 2 weeks ago we started the demo of our 160 year barn. It was in pretty bad shape but still had good bones. Our goal for this year is a new roof and an extension on the back of it. Nextbyear turn it into a wedding venue.. Life goes on. Don't stop dreaming. Keep on keeping on. #Farmerfever

One of our most unique and popular crops is finally in season: husk cherries! A relative of the tomato, this little fruit has a paper husk surrounding it, much like a tomatillo. Where the husk cherry stands out is its unique, fruity, almost tropical flavor.
We've got a delicious brand new product: meet the Atlas carrot! We'll see if it makes the grade as a full time crop!

Overwintered Sweet Carrots are one of the greatest seasonal treats on the farm! When some crops, like carrots, are grown in cold temperatures, the plant cant convert its sugars to starches. The end result is a carrot so good, you'll be ready for winter just to get more! Get your taste buds ready CSA members!!

After a couple years of preparing our soil, we are finally building our permanent raised beds. The big secret is that with these, we no longer need major tillage events! After each crop we simply prepare each bed individually. A light tilth is enough to incorporate organic fertilizers into the top inch of the soil, and prepare a nice smooth surface for seeding, but not deep enough to disturb the complex ecosystem deep in the soil.
