Fixing things here on the homestead this Friday. My girls somehow have destroyed their nesting boxes so I upgraded to another red hen roll away nest box. The eggs roll down to the front compartment so they stay clean and the girls can’t peck at them!

We started with just 6 baby chicks a few years ago and now we have a flock of nearly 30 laying hens gives us a bunch of eggs daily. We allow them to free range in the yard regularly to keep the ticks away!! Some of the breeds we have are Rhode Island Red, barred rock for brown eggs and creamed legbar, Ameraucana for our blueish eggs. We stocked up on chicks this spring and got white leghorns for white eggs and a few more Ameraucana. Still waiting for the little ones to start laying.

Picked up two more female ducks this weekend!! I believe they are Campbell breed of duck.
