All the trees are in blossom! They are amazing and boy the bees are busy! So, the journey has begun.

The pruning is done and just a little brush left to pick up. Hoping to mow around the farm soon but the rain, while growing beautiful green grass, will look like hay season has arrived. And no bailer…😉HA! Apple blossoms soon though! Can’t wait…

Well the weather has a bit more cooperative so most of the semi dwarf trees are almost done with the pruning though those trees look bigger than semi dwarfs.…😉. So progress has been made and looking great. Can’t wait for the smell of apple blossoms. And frost stay away…the welcome mat has been taken in. Hope you all are enjoying the sun and warmth that is until Mother Nature changes the rules. She does have the last word…🫢

Okay so it was 2 snowstorms with more snow than we had in 3 years. Will help the drought. Now drizzle but thankfully no sleet. Maybe shouldn’t have said that but we’ll see. Hopefully next week’s 50ish degree days will help clear inches of the white stuff to start pruning season. Oh…and then there is Mud season. Life is never dull in the country. Well don’t forget to “Spring Ahead” Sunday AM…an extra cup of coffee will help wake you up in the darkish AM…A little levity to start the week.😉😎Have a good one!!

We are preparing for a significant snow storm this weekend. We are watching the apple trees with some ribbons still tied for each variety wafting in a slight breeze. Monday many will have fallen and be buried under the snow. Their roots will be happier. They will then be sheltered from the cold and freezing winds….patiently for Spring.

Well another year for Hardy Farms has come to a close. It was wonderful reconnecting with everyone who visit each year. And a special welcome to the many first time visitors we had the pleasure to meet. The word of mouth recommendations from our returning friends and families introduced these first time visitors to the experience of apple picking in a relaxing environment filled with laughter and children’s screams of joy. Yup…the best. Thank you everyone and let’s do this again next Fall. You have given us joy and warmth that will carry us through this coming Winter and Spring. So…until next year…❤️

Hardy Farms is very happy to introduce the author, illustrator and our neighbor of a new children’s book, Davis Goes Apple Picking. Elizabeth Hannibal Drury wrote this wonderful story which is beautifully illustrated. Who is Davis? Davis is the family dog and a lover of apples..found along the edge of the orchard, the road or wherever they roll. Davis enjoys each and every one. Come peruse the book, meet the author and just maybe a surprise visit by…? She will visit this weekend, Saturday and Sunday Sept 27th and 28th from 12 noon-1:30.
