A big last couple of weeks around the farm. Things getting planted (like tomatoes, peppers, celery, eggplant) and things getting harvested (like turnips, rhubarb, greens). The incessant cycle we work by.

Jenna’s found her groove in the greenhouse and I love watching it happen. With baby, I’ve necessarily stepped back from many tasks, allowing others to step in to them. And has taken on the bulk of my greenhouse work, training along the way. Their work speaks for itself! The greenhouse is thriving.

I do love to watch the ebb and flow of the greenhouse. Just when you think there’s not an inch of bench space left, the crew spends the day planting and there’s room to fill once again.

We are busy harvesting from, seeding in, repairing, prepping beds and transplanting into them while we wait for the outdoor conditions to become more favorable. But this gradual wake into spring and spring work is a season we’ve all come to love and anticipate.

So many things have changed, yet everything is the same. The farm is gearing up for its 11th season. Seeds are being planted, a new tunnel has been completed, plants are being harvested, broken things are being repaired, and all with a new baby in tow.

And all of my favorite birds are starting to make their way back to the farm from their winter getaways. Happy spring!
