It is with great sadness and sorrow that we have to make this post.

We will not be opening the Mercantile in Hope. 💔 We fought long and hard with it and tried to make it work. It has become pretty obvious that this was just not welcomed here. From false complaints and phone calls to the state and county, it was clear that a portion of the community just didn’t want us here. It was hard enough to make it work with a full time job and life commitments anyway, but to have the added negative burden is just more than we are willing to accept.
So rather than keep pushing to try and make it work to benefit those who did want us here, we are just going to call it and not move forward with it. It was never about making money. Just wanted to help the community that we loved and and some life to Main Street and the town we live in.

We will be packing up in the evenings and this weekend so stop on by and say hello and goodbye if you want We would still love to see you all.

Good afternoon y’all!! Sorry it’s been a bit since the last update. Things have been busy to say the least! Taking some time this late afternoon to try and get the 1909 tiles cleaned. Have a big event coming up on September 6th and need to have the place s***k and span!! Hope Heritage Festival is September 6th and we highly recommend you come check it out!! Great free festival for the whole family and a good time had by all!!

Well it’s been one heck of a day!! Was able to make a batch of Blackberry Jalapeno Jam, a large batch of Cowboy Candy and Cowboy Candy Marinade. Also was able to process 26 ears of beautiful sweet corn!! It was beautiful anyway till the one jar broke during pressure canning ☹️. A bit of a mess to clean up. Then a very very old family recipe for Corn Cob Jelly!! Such a gorgeous golden color!! Now a batch of Peach Habanero Jam is in the works!!
