He has never once said I love you.

But he shows up - quietly, consistently, every single day - in ways I used to overlook.

For the longest time I was waiting for the words. I didnโ€™t realise the words were never coming โ€” because he was too busy showing me instead.

This one is for everyone whose partner loves loudly through actions and silently through words. This is the old school love story we forget to celebrate.

Tell me in the comments โ€” whatโ€™s the small thing your person does that says I love you without saying it? ๐Ÿ’ฌ

He asked me to bake a cake.
I knew it was for me.
So I made it the way I would for someone I really love โ€” banana cake, no added sugar, icing from whipped greek yogurt and ricotta. And then I handed it to him, and watched him give it back to me.
Atta cookies. Sprinkles. Every topping placed with complete four-year-old seriousness.
He placed the atta cookies one by one. Then licked his hand to catch every last crumb. And I just stood there and let myself feel it.
Thereโ€™s something about being loved by your child that you can see coming from a mile away โ€” and it still gets you every single time.
The other half of the cake became cake rusk. My little one had very strong feelings about it.
Nothing wasted. Not the cake. Not the moment.
Happy Motherโ€™s Day. โ™ฅ๏ธ

Happy birthday to the man who holds this whole circus together. ๐ŸŽ‚ We love you more than words โ€” and louder than these two boys will ever let you forget.
Now let us embarrass you properly ๐Ÿ˜›
Happy birthday. ๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿพ

He chose the colors. He cut the shapes. He made sure every single teacher had one.
I just baked them.
Some lessons about gratitude โ€” Iโ€™m learning from him. ๐ŸŒŸ

Spring break had meltdowns every single evening.

Not because anything went wrong โ€”
but because everything went too right.

โ€œI donโ€™t want to go home.โ€
Every. Day. ๐Ÿ˜…

Thatโ€™s how I knew we were doing it right.

On Saturday we made it to the Teddy Bear Picnic
with Project ABC โ€“ YMCA โ€” and watching them
light up was worth every tear at the door. ๐Ÿงธ

The meltdowns donโ€™t erase the memories we made.
Theyโ€™re just proof we were living it โ€” not performing it.

The memories we make matter more
than the hard moments. โ™ฅ๏ธ

Day 4 of spring break and honestly? This was the highlight.
Free play, circle time, songs, blocks, magnifying glasses โ€” and a baby who found the floor vent absolutely fascinating ๐Ÿ˜‚
The kids were in their element. The moms were present. And for a little while, it just felt like a real village.
If your library runs a parent-child playgroup, GO. Especially during school breaks.
