With a heavy heart but hopeful spirit, we wish Mark, ,all the best as he continues his farming journey taking on a new role as Director of Agriculture at Gaining Ground Farm in Concord, MA.

We are so proud of the direction and leadership that Mark has brought to the farm. There are now structures in place that will sustain us for decades!

As Mark puts it:

“It’s been a remarkable 2023 season and this is truly a bittersweet moment. Together, we worked to nourish the land, care for one another, and build a beautiful community that I’m excited to watch evolve and thrive!

I speak for Jack and I in saying that we will always look upon this time with great fondness and love for the connections, lessons, and growth that transpired at this special place.”

With much gratitude we look forward to following Mark in his next steps!

As most of you know, the primary purpose of the farm is to become a showcase for how a family or two can farm together and grow all their own food. To that end, we will focus this next year on nurturing the many perennial fruit, vegetable, and nut shrubs and trees that need extra attention before they come into full production.

We are delighted to continue sharing all of what we are planning for 2024 and the growing evolution here at Honey Nut Farm!

We’re hiring!
Position: Farm Hand
We’re a community farm on 6.5 acres, encompassing diversified veg. production, perennial nut & fruit orchards, & livestock - laying hens & dairy goats. HNF is an experiment in sustainable living & is working toward creating a community that can thrive off the grid, & be completely sustained from resources generated on the farm. Soil health, biodiversity, & general land stewardship are key components of HNF’s mission. It is part of HNF’s mission to establish itself as an educational institute & resource for people interested in sustainable living & to ultimately become an educational hub with publications that include you-can-do-it-too guides & seasonal cookbooks where every ingredient comes from HNF, & on-site educational opportunities where families & individuals come for a week or two & learn and work alongside us. We believe that small scale, local food production is going to become an increasingly important component of all our lives & an important way to mitigate the impacts of the growing climate crisis and return to healthy living.
