Did you know?
99% of the seeds you don't plant won't sprout.
If you think that's wrong you're right, it is. The old baseball joke that you miss 99% of the balls you don't swing at comes to mind. Somebody says "No, that'd be 100%" and the coach's reply is "Exactly, so swing the bat".
This phrase came to mind when checking on some sprouting corn seed we planted in hard ground.
Seems to be a lot like our life as believers who are sent out to plant seeds. Planting seeds in our world today is harder than ever, and many times it doesn't take. The thing is, it's not our job to water, germinate or grow. It's to plant.
God commands us to sow seeds of righteousness so that we may hopefully plant a seed in someone that they may never use until God waters it and it sprouts. A seed is no good without a planter.
As we check these seeds that typically take a week after moisture to start seeing sprouts we ride through the fields impatiently trying to see evidence of our work and automatically start thinking the worst. We check rows and don't see a sprout so we skip to another and ride faster and check another row, faster, another row, skip around, faster, panic, then we stop and realize-
Sometimes you must get on your knees to see His work.
In life we are such an impatient culture if we don't see immediate gratification we lose our head. In reality, 99% of these seeds normally come up. We just don't take the time to have patience and most importantly, faith.
Moral of the story is 100% of the seeds you don't plant won't sprout. And when you plant, have patience, have faith and wait on our heavenly Father. Get on your knees and thank Him for the opportunity to plant and the sprouts you can't even see yet. Often times a man stands tallest from his knees.
God bless you all and press on!
